Back when TNT first put Leverage on the air, I had a lot of doubts, and that's despite being a Timothy Hutton fan. It's also despite being a Coupling fan, but that's a little further afield. No one was more skeptical when Leverage hit the air on TNT. A crew of con artists led by Timothy Hutton who aim for a sort of Robin Hood effort by taking on the rich and powerful and/or large corporations just didn't sound like something that was going to work for me. BBCAmerica calls Coupling a cross between Friends and Sex and the City. I don’t really see that as a particularly accurate description, mainly because neither of those shows is as funny or intelligent. I was very skeptical about TNT's new effort, Leverage, despite the fact that TNT believes something to do with Oscar is part of Timothy Hutton's name.
