PSYCH Q & A With Special Guest Curt Smith Plus Episode Preview

psych-poster-season-5

Despite my misgivings about a couple of episodes, you don’t want to miss the next one. With not only LOST’s Nestor Carbonell, but also Tears for Fears’ Curt Smith appearing both in person and as theme song re-interpreter, and with a plot that involves Carbonell as “Shawn 2.0,” this one is dripping with potential. Make sure you check it out tonight at 10/9c.

Covert Affairs’ Chris Gorham Q & A

christopher-gorham-covert-affairs

I hope you’re still having fun with Covert Affairs, and I have another Q & A for you. This time, with Chris Gorham who plays Auggie.

I was a bit hesitant about this show after the pilot, largely because I wasn’t sure it was exactly clear which directions it was going to aim in a variety of ways. I’m pretty happy with it so far, and stay tuned, because in the next day or two I will have a preview review of the next episode, which focuses a good deal on Auggie.

I’m going to just assume that you’re watching Covert Affairs already, and just jump into the fact that Sendhil Ramamurthy took part in a Q & A recently, and I have it to share with you.

The Next Food Network Star – Q & A With Bob Tuschman & Aria Kagan

aria 1sm

There’s probably no point in continuing to say that The Next Food Network Star is either going about things all wrong, or exactly right, but I’ll leave the success of the last few winners to speak for me. With the possible exception of Tom (and I mean “possible” very seriously), and maybe Brad, there never was anyone on this run that I’d watch if they had a show.

Co-written and directed by Matthew Vaughn (upcoming X-Men: First Class), the ass-kicking adventure is more than just an action film, as it combines a unique sense of humor, powerful storyline, and sometimes shocking violence with impressive performances by a talented cast of both young actors and on-screen veterans.

Project Runway Season 8 – Tim Gunn Interview Plus Sneak Peek

proje5673_JPGsm

Project Runway’s 8th season is coming to you July 29th, and the show is taking over the Thursday 9pm time slot. With more designers, a new 90-minute format, and in my opinion something to prove after last season, the show is bigger than anything you’ve seen before.

PSYCH – James Roday And Steve Franks Talk Season Five

One of my favorite shows, perhaps ever, PSYCH returns tonight, and James Roday and Steve Franks held a Q & A recently to discuss the new season.

There is really nothing like PSYCH, and there is nothing like an interview with James Roday on the line. Normally, I would trim up an interview, but I can’t bring myself to do it with James in the conversation. These calls are too much fun.

Because of that, I’m just going to jump right into it, and let you have fun, but I would be remiss if I didn’t give you a link as well. I talked with James before the start of last season, and stayed away from talking about the show itself as much as possible. It turned into a great conversation, and I got the chance to share a lot of great insight into his tastes in things on screens. Check that interview out here.

Kid In A Candy Store’s Adam Gertler Interview

You may have been around to hear me mention Adam Gertler several times before, and the Next Food Network Star non-winner has another new show premiering tonight, Kid in a Candy Store. Not long after losing the competition show, Adam showed up with Will Work for Food, and I still consider it one of the best shows to ever hit as a result of Food Network‘s reality talent search.

To be honest, no one has ever gone on to host an actual cooking show that I cared for at all.

At any rate, I have high hopes for this new show, and if Adam can bring the same fun to the world of sweets, I think he may have a hit for himself. He was available for a Q&A interview recently, and the chat was a real treat.

Check out the show tonight at 8:00 and 8:30.

Matt Bomer & Tim DeKay Talk White Collar’s New Season

The second season of USA‘s new show White Collar is about to hit on Tuesday July 13th, and the show is getting better and better. The first season ended with a bang, and the show obviously has to do a lot of coping with the realities of that sudden turn. You might expect the show to wind down completely for an episode or two, and focus exclusively on the broader picture, but it’s business as usual pretty quickly.

Using the plot idea that we should get Neal right back to work, we’re back in the thick of things with a corrupt politician and a bank robber. While the show has been pretty solid from the beginning, Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay (or Neal and Peter) are settling into a nice stride in season two. The banter rolls more smoothly, and it seems clear that the character progression is working well for the show, and for the actors.

Matt and Tim took part in a Q&A session recently to talk about the new season, and their characters. Check it out.

Doug Liman Talks Covert Affairs

USA‘s new show Covert Affairs is pretty good even by USA standards. The interaction between Piper Perabo and Chris Gorham is entertaining, and it’s a lot of fun considering it’s about the CIA. I’ll give you a full review soon, but right now I’ve got an interview with producer Doug Liman to share with you.

You can also check out a few videos for the show below, and check out the Covert Affairs Official Page here.

New jobs are tough—especially when your new employer is the CIA. Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) is fluent in six languages, has traveled the world and is besting her fellow CIA trainees in every test. But that doesn’t explain why she’s suddenly summoned by CIA headquarters to report for active duty as a field operative one month before her training is over. She doesn’t know there may be something—or someone—from her past that her CIA bosses are really after.

Annie’s unofficial guide to the CIA is Auggie Anderson (Christopher Gorham), a tech ops expert who was blinded while on assignment. As Annie navigates this new world of intrigue, danger and bureaucratic red tape, Auggie is there to make sure this quick study won’t be kept in the dark for long. Also starring Peter Gallagher, Kari Matchett, Sendhil Ramamurthy and Anne Dudek.

Alice In Wonderland Virtual Roundtable With Artist And Conceptual Designer Dermot Power

I have several things coming up to get you excited for the June 1st release of Alice in Wonderland. Stay tuned for a great book, the Blu-Ray release itself, and more, but for now I have a virtual roundtable with Dermot Power. Artist and concept designer for the film, Dermot shared a lot of his work, and let us in on how many of the ideas came together.

Also in on this event were David Jessen, VP of DVD productions with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, and also Jim Davy, producer of the Alice and Wonderland Blu-ray DVD, and they added some interesting information as well. Particularly, the way the Dermot’s Oraculum art from the film has been turned into the Blu-Ray menu system.

It was really a fascinating event, and I hope you can share in the experience to some degree.

The Good Guys Interview with Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford – Plus Photo Shoot Video

Tonight you’re going to get a pre-American Idol visit from The Good Guys before the series “officially” kicks off in June. You can catch my “official” take on The Good Guys here, but let me give you the “official” synopsis to catch you up, since we’re dealing with an interview for a yet-to-be-aired show-

From Matt Nix (“Burn Notice“), comes THE GOOD GUYS, a new action comedy about what happens when an old-school cop and a modern-day detective expose the big picture of small crime.

Once upon the 1970s, DAN STARK (Bradley Whitford) and his partner, Frank Savage, were big-shot Dallas detectives. So big, in fact, that they were lauded as American heroes after saving the Governor’s son. Thirty years later, Dan Stark is a washed-up detective who spends most of his time drunk or re-hashing his glory days. A stranger to modern police work who would much rather trust his old-school police instincts, Dan has the reputation as being a bit of a wild card. Able to skate by on the heroic deeds of his yesteryear, he is still a semi-active presence on the force, and with the help of his liquor of choice, occasionally comes through to solve a petty crime.

Joss Whedon Interview – GLEE – Dream On

Tonight’s episode of GLEE , “Dream On,” was guest-directed by Joss Whedon, and he was available for a conference call interview to talk about the episode specifically, and working on GLEE more generally. It was a great interview, and it’s a solid episode.

Also along for tonight’s ride is Neil Patrick Harris, as Will’s High School rival, and the interplay he creates with various characters is great stuff. Rachel also gets a cassette tape from her mother, and you don’t want to miss the reveal there.

You don’t want to miss one particular number tonight, which captures the viral video vibe and GLEE’s it up.

If you’re still coming down off that Madonna high, this is an episode you want to catch. Spend a few minutes with Joss and get yourself psyched up.

Enjoy!

Fringe Interview With Leonard Nimoy

With Fringe heading into the second season finale on the heels of inclusion in the fall lineup, things are looking pretty good. I was oddly impressed with the show’s beginnings, but it lost some momentum for a while, and a third season order was no sure thing. Whether you’re a huge fan or not, it’s good to see some quirky shows get a chance to play out for a while.

Fans will be familiar with Leonard Nimoy‘s presence on the show, and he was recently available for a conference call interview to talk about the show, his character, and more. As you might expect, the sci-fi icon provided some very interesting talking points.

Don’t miss “Over There Part II” on the 20th.

Enjoy.

Alice In Wonderland Virtual Roundtable With Producers Jennifer And Suzanne Todd

Alice in Wonderland is hitting stores June 1st, and I recently got to take part in a virtual roundtable with producers Jennifer and Suzanne Todd. If you aren’t familiar, the producing duo (and sisters) have worked on a wide range of films, and whether you love or hate the films they come in contact with, they choose interesting titles.

Hudson Hawk, Austin Powers, Memento, Boiler Room, and Must Love Dogs, just to a name a few, though they weren’t both on all of them. With a variety of genres behind them, they are a decidedly interesting pair of producers. (Sorry, I loved Hudson Hawk)

As part of the roundtable, I got a chance to check out some special features from the film’s release, and they were quite interesting. The Blu-Ray is a loaded effort, and if what I caught is indicative of the entire bonus line-up, it’s going to be a must own. Actually, it is in any case just based on the movie, but you probably already know that.
