Seven Psychopaths, though ultimately not quite as enjoyable as it might have been, was often refreshing, and certainly a lot of fun.
What stands out more than anything about the film is the simple fact that it had the stones to carry through with what it was, and didn’t have anything like the delusions of grandeur that such films often have. It was wacky, often probably far too much so, but it was ok with that, and just let itself be.
We were both impressed with a lot of the acting, even though that ran away with itself at times, and Christopher Walken delivered so big that he makes it largely worthwhile on his own.
Still, in the final verdict, it wasn’t quite polished enough, and didn’t get where it was going. It’s unfortunate too, because if we could have maneuvered things just a bit, and reworked the script just a bit more, this could have been really great.
Although, I’m still sticking by my story that I think in a few months I’ll probably like it even more.
We may have landed at ratings that are very middle of the road, but I’m still very comfortable recommending it. It’s worth checking out, and I don’t think anyone will be too disappointed.
All that said, it certainly made for a fun show. Give us a listen below.
