Joss Whedon obviously likes to get his hands into a variety of projects, and now he's taking a shot at reworking the horror genre. The Cabin in the Woods, as you'll see from the trailer below, starts off in a way that is all too familiar, but we soon learn that there is a serious twist at work.
If the trailer is any judge, it looks like this one is going to add some serious fun, and a new layer of thrills to the standard play of the "alone in the woods" sub-genre. Whatever is going on exactly, it's high-tech craziness mixed in with the gore and slash.

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS was co-written by Joss Whedon (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER) and Drew Goddard (CLOVERFIELD, LOST), and is Goddard's directorial debut. Starring Chris Hemsworth (THOR), Richard Jenkins (LET ME IN) and Bradley Whitford (THE WEST WING), the film will be in theaters everywhere April 13th, 2012.
