The Hunger Games Gets Sneak Peek

Few movies get the kind of marketing push we're seeing from The Hunger Games, especially this far out. Due out in March 2012, the film is already all that anyone seems to be talking about, and the release of a sneak peek hasn't changed things.

The next, most fantastic thing ever, The Hunger Games is hoping to capitalize on immense popularity, and fill the franchise void left by things now over, or seemingly old news.

By most accounts (I haven't read it) a far more serious effort than those that have recently taken the world by storm, it makes one wonder how the translation will come through, and how we fuse a complex, weighty offering with the near hysteria surrounding the revelation of every actor and actress.

On the other hand, I (and others) may be giving the book too much credit.

Either way, you can get a small taste below, and this is bound to be a small drop in the bucket of the general media blast sure to come your way. It isn't even enough to make a lot of comment on really, but let me know where you are in the general The Hunger Games Excitement arena.

For those utterly out of the loop-

In a dystopic setting, twelve subjugated districts are forced to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl. These tributes are forced to participate in the annual "Hunger Games," a fight-to-the-death, televised event. Katniss Everdeen's little sister is chosen in the lottery to become a tribute, but Katniss offers to take her place. We follow her adventure, as she must make hard choices to survive, win the games, and return home.

THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross and features an all-star cast including Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland and Lenny Kravitz.

I think I may die of anticipation waiting to see this movie. The books were absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see if the film lives up to the hype.
