America’s Test Kitchen – Season 10 DVD Review And Giveaway

Of all the shows related to cooking, none of them compares to America's Test Kitchen... at least to me. The combination of cooking, science, and the testing and rating of appliances and cookware, not to mention the wide range of recipes, means there is something for just about everyone in every episode.

Not only is the variety in the show's focus  wonderful, but the attitude is refreshing. Though extremely knowledgeable of their subject, everyone on the show approaches the lessons given with just the right combination of skill and viewing ease. Whatever the alleged theory behind a cooking show, the trend now seems to be either a thinly-veiled arrogance, a grand demonstration of something I'd never make anyway, or both.

Season 10 offers up some of the show's best moments, a great selection of recipes and tips, and some of the most worthwhile product ratings. Although, these may not always meld into the same episode. Cooking a French omelet was a great lesson, but I'm not sure I actually needed the rundown on $100 (and more) omelet pans.

Of course, nothing beats the simple sell of the show, the tested and retested best versions of the recipes they're after, especially when the format comes up against such things as An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving, an episode in this set.
