The Gilmore Girls Hit iTunes And I Have An Awesome Giveaway

The Gilmore Girls hit at iTunes a few days ago, and to celebrate the new availability of one of my favorite shows, I have a great giveaway for you.

Before we get to the giveaway, be sure you check out The Gilmore Girls at iTunes. Every season is available, with seasons 3-7 available in HD.

Simply put, one of the best shows to hit television in years, with 7 seasons and 150+ episodes that never lost their edge. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel were as good as any pair you've seen, and their characters opened new possibilities to the entire world of television character interaction and dialogue.

Welcome to quaint Stars Hollow, Connecticut. People often mistake Independence Inn's manager, headstrong single mom Lorelai Gilmore, and her equally willful teenage daughter, Rory, for sisters. Lorelai and Rory cope with the same emotional ups and downs, including Lorelai's overbearing, old-money parents and the joys and frustrations of the male gender. This heartfelt, humorous drama appeals to young and old alike with its blend of traditional family issues and hip, contemporary attitude.

Not just a great show, but one that is supremely rewatchable, making the DVD releases and the ability to own them through iTunes downloads of special value.

Now, I don't know about you, but as the number of available titles on iTunes has shot up, I've done a bit of collecting, and I've been pretty happy with the results. Bringing my own set of options on my iPhone has made flights a lot more bearable, and while watching on an iPhone isn't the perfect experience, it's better than I thought (and is surprisingly light on battery consumption). With the growing possibilities of richer viewing experience once something is purchased at iTunes, it may become an even more frequent choice.

For this giveaway (I know you don't know what it is yet), I'd like to get your thoughts on iTunes downloads of television shows and movies. Have you bought/rented/whatever any TV shows or movies from iTunes before? Were you happy with the result? Great? Awful? Too expensive? Whatever you've got, I'd like to get some reaction on the option.

To enter this giveaway -

Just leave a comment below and give me an idea of your iTunes video experience, and you're automatically entered. If you have no experience, please give me something. Why haven't you?

Ok, here's the giveaway.

One lucky winner will receive -

One Dragon Fly Inn Mug

One Luke's Mug

Your choice of TWO full seasons of the show via iTunes download.

That's right. Two seasons. Pick your favorites. Remember that seasons 3-7 are in HD.

I'd appreciate it if you would also Tweet, Facebook, or otherwise let people know about this one.

Contest is open to U.S. residents only. Prize value is approximately $90 and is provided by Warner Brothers and Are You Screening? Winner will be randomly selected April 22.

I love watching shows on iTunes. I don't use the feature regularly, but whenever I happen to miss a show, either because the DVR didn't work or because I forgot to set it, it's the first place I check, before seeking out other means. I particularly love being able to watch them on the iPod.

I've downloaded a few shows from iTunes. I like it, but I still prefer watching DVDs on TV. But it does come in handy on plane flights, etc. So I have a few of my favorite shows stored away for those such occasions. I would love to add Gilmore Girls to that list! It's one of my favorite shows!!!

I just got an itouch for myself with my tax money so ive been schooling myself in the way of itunes however I would def. say that I am a beginner with it, I dont know all the tricks or anything. It is not my fave application because it hogs a lot of memory and makes my computer run slow but it def. has a HUGE catalog of stuff you can download (even FREE stuff) which kind of makes up for it.

I simply ADORE the gilmore girls and was PUMPED when I found out it was going to be available on Itunes, of course its a little pricey for me for a whole season but hey I can always download a couple fave eps and def. enjoy them =)

I really hope I win! =) thanks for the chance! :)

I've had a great results with iTunes videos. I've bought quite a few episodes of my favorite shows on there (and they were on sale at the time) and I'm really excited they finally added Gilmore Girls. I've also loved that iTunes lets you get the first episode of a new series when it first comes out, I missed the pilot episode of a show and downloaded it to catch up. It a great way to pass the time.

I've never downloaded a video from iTunes because I don't use iTunes.

I just received an iPod that has video capabilities and haven't downladed any movies yet. My children have downloaded movies onto theirs and have been very pleased with them. Although I have all of the seasons on dvd, this would be a wonderful show to have on the iPod and take with me anywhere I go. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I like to watch shows on iTunes, but would enjoy the experience considerably more if there were captions on more of the shows. It would be fabulous if the listings also told you which shows were captioned and which were not, so the viewer is not disappointed later on.

I've purchased a few videos from iTunes: Pirates of the Caribbean, Pocahontas, and a few episodes of The Office (an eclectic bunch to say the least). I've really enjoyed having them on my computer and iPod without having to search through a bunch of DVDs, and it's made it really easy to watch something with a friend while taking a bus ride or sitting in a waiting room. I absolutely love it.

One mistake, only Season 4-7 are in HD, Season 3 was never aired in HD and just checked iTunes and it’s 4:3 on there.

Why can’t S4-7 be released in 16:9 on DVD?
