Mickey Mouse Clubhouse – Minnie’s Bow-Tique DVD Review

You may have different ideas about you wanted to watch, but when you have kids, you're going to find yourself exposed to all manner of television at one point or another. Some of these are tolerable, some ignorable, some beyond allowable, and some suck you right in (iCarly and Phineas and Ferb jump to mind), and while the age-range of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse prevents a real level of adult watchability, it's an impressive show that kids love.

The newest DVD release of the semi-interactive Disney effort is Minnie's Bow-tique, and includes the episodes - Minnie's Bow-tique, Minnie's Picnic, Minnie's Bee Story, and the Never-Before-Seen Minnie's Pajama Party. The last two episodes include Adventure Mode, a fun way to watch interactively using the remote. While the Adventure Mode clearly seems like a gimmicky feature not far removed from what you might find on other releases, Disney DVDs do good work with such features, and this is no exception. To adult examination, this might not seem like much, but kids love it.

It's a nice selection of episodes, clearly leaning toward a focus on the girl fans, and the show in general is a solid mix of fun and learning opportunities with the classic Mickey crew kids will fall in love with. There's something about the show that brings back a general feel of old school Disney, E-Tickets, and family entertainment you can really appreciate.

It's the grand opening of Minnie's Bow-tique, a store jam-packed with every kind of bow and bowtie imaginable. The selections include: the "Glow-Bow", a bow that changes color with every mood; the "Grow-Bow", a bow that grows to tremendous size by just adding water; flying "Butterfly-Bows"; and a "Photo-Bow" that snaps instant pictures.

Problems arise when Pete, embarrassed about buying a lady's bow for his favorite aunt, causes a few accidental mishaps in the new store. However, super salesperson Minnie finds the perfect bow for Pete. The Bow-tique's grand opening is a success - and it all ends in a Big Bow Show with the Clubhouse gang modeling the latest fashions under the biggest bow of all, a colorful, sky-high Rain-Bow.

In a never-before-seen episode, Minnie’s Pajama Party Minnie and the girls set up a fun Pajama Party sleepover for the day – but it’s not as easy as it sounds, especially with the addition of Pete and Willie the Giant!

With the plethora of choices out there, this is a show that managed to win my approval early, and has kept putting together quality episodes through its run.
