It may be a world of supremely niche target audience, but the entire existence of GSN proves that the market is out there. Recently released on DVD, a whole new crop of great game show treasures is available for your enjoyment, and I'm giving away the complete set to one lucky winner.
These shows speak for themselves, but I have to share a bit before I leave you to checking out the info on your own. I'm somewhat biased as a longtime classic game show fan, but these are some incredible sets. While the individual show sets are each great purchases, the real kicker is Game Show Moments Gone Bananas. Hosted by Ben Stein, this set of five specials gives you over three hours of hilarious moments from decades of classic shows. I'll leave my recommendation at simply telling you that I watched the whole thing straight through.
The rest of sets are Best Of, and we've got All-Star Family Feud, The Price is Right, Password, and Match Game. All are great collections, and I have to make sure that you note the "All-Star" on Family Feud. Just getting a look at some of the stars is worth it.
Leave a comment below and include the word, "Win," and you are automatically entered to win a copy of ALL of these great sets! U.S. only. Winner will be randomly selected on March 15th.
Let's look at the sets.
Game Show Moments Gone Bananas
Hosted by Ben Stein, this series of specials features the most hilarious moments from classic game shows around the world. In addition to timeless clips, host segments include games where members of the GSMGB studio audience get their chance to actually play classic game shows like Family Feud and Beat The Clock. Classic moments. Hilarious games. Legendary stars. Unpredictable contestants. All these elements combined make GAME SHOW MOMENTS GONE BANANAS a true winner.
From the silliest, stupidest, brain-deadest moments in the history of game shows, to rare looks at superstars before they were famous, to outtakes and crazy bloopers, the set runs the entire spectrum that is the world of game shows.
An unexpected sell of the set is that it frequently features the show Distraction which is hilarious whether it's a special moment or not.
Between moments of wackiness, Ben Stein recreates games with members of the audience, and each show has a special guest count down the top 5 of some area of game show history, such as biggest host blunders.
