White Collar Return, Surprise Revealed In Images, And White Collar Prize Pack

What is easily one of the best shows on television returns tonight on USA, and I've got clips, a giveaway, and my assurance that you don't want to miss an episode.

White Collar shot out of the gates in the fall with great characters, great writing by Jeff Eastin, and a fun story. Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, Willie Garson, and Tiffani Thiessen are all exceptional, especially when you consider some of the complicated scenes they have to manage.

How good is it? It's the first show in five years that I've actually watched when it was on. It confuses my Tivo a bit, but yes, I turn it to Live TV, and make sure I'm there.

It's back tonight, after switching to Tuesdays, at 10/9c.

I had some reservations about the show when it first started. I wondered how well the conman working the good side angle was going to play out when we got into more and more episodes. Sure, it was a fun story, but is it really something that can keep going in ways that keep things interesting? Well, those worries are over. The show gets better with every episode.

You probably know that the mid-season finale left us with quite the cliffhanger. Fans ran the spectrum as we saw Kate walk into the room with Peter, and reactions went from excited, to intrigued, to just plain angry at the move. The possibilities that flew out of that moment were too numerous to count, and a lot of people began considering some of them as dealbreakers. "If this means X, or Y happens now, I'm not watching anymore," was something I heard from many a source.

Now, I can't tell you what happens, but I think I can tell you that none of the things you fear is coming... at least, I don't think so. More importantly, the whole idea illustrates part of why I really love the show. In many ways this it's just gutsy, and it's going to give its story come what may. Hopefully lots of people like it, and the ratings are strong (though not as strong as they deserve to be), but if people don't like it, that's just too bad.

I can see a lot of ideas buzzing around at Jeff Eastin as time goes on - If Neal is a little more like this, the ratings will go up. Are you sure Peter does this in this scene, because some people might not like that. I watch a lot of shows where I can see the tweaks show up on air. White Collar doesn't care so much. This is who these characters are. Take it or leave it.

The returning episode coming up tonight spins us into a solid new criminal angle, and balances it with a good mix of the character drama that obviously has to be addressed between Neal and Peter. I'm not sure exactly how USA will take this sort of praise, but my wife and I love when a show exists (it's rare) that we can look forward to all week, open a bottle of wine, actually turn off the cell phones and laptops (we're those people), and just enjoy it. White Collar has shown week after week that it's the perfection of that show.

Do not miss it.

Great prize pack available to Win. White Collar's December 2009 cliffhanger got people talking, which is great for this show's cast
