Kathy Griffin – She’ll Cut A Bitch DVD Review

There's something about Kathy Griffin, and the truth is, I have no idea what it is. I think there's something about the mindset and attitude of someone who would put "D-List" in the title of their own show that comes through in her comedy.

Her new DVD, Kathy Griffin - She'll Cut A Bitch, is her stand-up show filmed in Portland, but with a lot of footage that never aired in broadcasts.

In this run, Kathy has a go at Cher, The Emmy Awards, Tracy Morgan, Suze Orman, and more - but, in the bonus footage she also tackles Octomom, Sarah Palin, and Sarah Silverman.

If you've enjoyed anything Kathy Griffin has done before, you don't want to miss this one. If you haven't, this is the perfect time to check her out, because this one is hilarious. The poster girl for not watching your tongue, she lays it all out there and doesn't really care about any result apart from laughs. The DVD is without bonus features (apart from the extra footage), but that's pretty much to be expected from such a release.

Two-time Emmy® Award-winning and self-proclaimed “D-Lister” Kathy Griffin is back with a riotous new special, She’ll Cut A Bitch. Her sixth Bravo stand-up special, She’ll Cut A Bitch originally aired on April 15, 2009, and will now be available for the first time on DVD on January 12, 2010 from Shout! Factory. Uncensored and unrated, She’ll Cut A Bitch boasts hilarious never-before-seen footage that includes The Octo Mom and Sarah Palin, a Maggie Griffin update, texting Sarah Silverman, and more!

The star of television’s My Life On The D-List, Kathy’s sharp, revealing narratives have become legendary, and her latest special She’ll Cut A Bitch is no exception. Written & performed by Kathy, her latest comedy special takes you backstage in Hollywood — from the Emmys® to the Grammys® and even to Cher’s Malibu mansion. Appearing before a sold-out crowd at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, Oregon, Griffin is in top form dishing about Judge Judy, James Gandolfini’s “ring of fire,” her mother Maggie’s beloved box of wine, hosting the “Shmemmys,” and supporting Suze Orman for President so she can go about flipping the White House “and turning it for a profit.”

She’ll Cut A Bitch was a 2009 Emmy-nominee for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special. Kathy has hosted multiple comedy specials on HBO, Comedy Central, and Bravo, the home of her successful Emmy® Award-winning reality show "Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List,” which also received a 2009 Emmy-nomination. A two-time Emmy-winner, Kathy also recently hosted the 2009 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and in September ‘09 released a new book titled “Official Book Club Selection: A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin,” which is a #1 New York Times Bestseller. She has performances scheduled nationally throughout January 2010.

A Chicago native, Kathy Griffin got her start with the Los Angeles improvisational comedy troupe Groundlings alongside Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz and Phil Hartman, and guest starring on various TV shows before landing a role on NBC’s “Suddenly Susan.” Kathy has co-hosted The Billboard Music Awards three years in a row; had roles in films such as "It's Pat" and "Four Rooms" among others, won ABC’s “Celebrity Mole Hawaii,” hosted the NBC reality show “Average Joe,” as well as the series “Kathy’s So-Called Reality” on MTV, and received a Grammy nomination for her comedy CD For Your Consideration.
