Excited for Avatar? Well IMAX has something to get you even more excited.

It's the 24-hour Avatar IMAX 3D Fan-a-thon that will kick-off and usher in the opening of Avatar: An IMAX 3D Experience! There will be HOURLY giveaways plus Avatar facts and missions found on the IMAX fan page. The Fan-a-thon starts on December 18 at 12:01 AM EST and will run for 24 hours! Fans can enter to win exclusive Avatar IMAX 3D prizes EVERY HOUR!

There's going to be lots of really great prizes, so you want to mark your calendar.

To kick things off a bit, I've got a couple of prizes you can win right here.

You can get your own Avatar IMAX 3D poster and T-shirt.

Just leave a comment and include the word, "Win," and you are automatically entered. U.S. and Canada only. Winner will be selected December 19th, so if you happen to miss out at the IMAX fan-a-thon, you've still a got a chance.

    The Avatar blue people would be awesome to see on a IMAX 3D screen. I have seen several movies on IMAX 3D with the most recent one being the Christmas Carol … the entire production in 3D is a WIN WIN. You absolutely feel that you are in the movie. I am sure Avatar will without a doubt be best seen on a IMAX 3D screen.

    I got a midnight ticket over a month ago for Avatar IMAX 3D at the Bridge Cinema in LA so I could see it on the best screen in LA with the best crowd. Cameron tends to pop in at the Bridge when he goes to the movies and he said he may stop in on 1-2 theater screenings to get the vibe of the crowd.

    I'm not Cameron's biggest fan by any means, but as a life-long IMAX fan – the real full-size IMAX GT system that is – I could cut the atmosphere with a knife as I'm going to see AVATAR at 14:15 today! I'm sure that it will more than make up for all the years I've sat like a geek alone in the IMAX theatres of Britain.
