Glee – Three Great Sneak Peeks

I've covered Glee quite a bit, mostly because I was thoroughly impressed with the pilot, and the generally caustic approach to everything is practically tailor-made to suit me. However, the truth is that the last episode or two haven't worked quite as well for me. Things have been getting a bit too... and while I am absolutely your man for settling in with a wonderful hyperbole, there is only so far I can go in believing a man doesn't know his wife is pregnant.

glee2While in many ways still just tons of fun, there are several other aspects of the show that are not living up to the brilliant balance of the pilot. Some latitude is certainly deserved, given that hyperbole is probably one of the most difficult methods of expression to pull off... and a TV show has to keep doing week after week, but even that will only get you so far.

That's not to say that the show is really going downhill, I still like it better than quite a bit that's out there, but it hasn't been performing as well as I'd hoped.

I've got a few sneak peeks from tomorrow's episode though, and they lead me back toward more positive thoughts.

What do you think? How's the show doing? What do you think of the clips?

I agree. There's still a lot of great satire–but some of the plot lines are more than unbelievable. I'm with you on the pregnancy story–obviously there isn't much of a marital relationship left between Will and his wife if he doesn't realize she isn't pregnant. And Quinn doesn't look even slightly pregnant.
