ScreenIt? Weekly Link Love, DVD Lesser-Knowns And Other Junk – 30 Rock, Monty Python, Chris Pine, And More

by Marc Eastman on October 17, 2009

Not as busy a week as it might seem. There’s certainly been a lot of talk, but mostly about the same things. Jon is apparently being sued by TLC, and the show is apparently ending in NovemberNovember reviewsNovember reviews, but that’s all the same story really. Nicolas Cage is taking his ex-manager to court, and everyone has been having a field day with that one. And, generally, it was a week of hearing the same things over and over… well, and balloons.

Super Dave is apparently returning, check out ScreenRant for that one.

TV.com has a round-up of the new shows coming to CW, and you may want to get a peek at the possibilities. Check out The CW’s Future Shows Sound Both Awful and Wonderful

30 Rock is back, and fans are clamoring. Check out this great clip.

Lots of people are taking about Dollhouse, and Sci Fi Wire the scoop from FOX’s Preston Beckhead on the decisions about the series.

Mia Michaels is leaving So You Think You Can Dance… and, well, you know who you are.

The cast of Glee didn’t make it to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but managed to get a spot during The World Series. The New York Daily News has that story here.

The Fantastic Mr. FoxFantastic Mr. Fox reviewsFantastic Mr. Fox reviews is hoping to get a little exposure with a new game you can try out online, Whackbat.

Though not skyrocketing in the ratings, Community is getting talked about quite a bit, and while the show requires a certain taste and isn’t following the quick pace standard that seems to be taking over comedy, I find it rather a good time. Here’s a clip.

Fawlty Towers is getting a new DVD treatment, and I’ll have the full scoop on that release in a few days, but in related news, Sirius XM now has a Monty Python channel… but, it will only be around for ten days, so check it out quick. Mediaweek has more details here.

And, catch some PythonPythonPython interview below.

Speaking of 30 Rock, if you missed Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin in their Jay Leno talk, check it out below.

TV.com had a fun little article this week which really got me thinking. They picked their favorite TV title sequences. This is worth checking out, especially as they include the sequences for you to watch. Check it out here.

If you’ve missed The Gilmore Girls, you may be in store for a treat. The show’s creator is working on a new show for HBOTHR has the story here.

That should keep you busy.

Now for some DVDs.
