Command And Conquer Red Alert Coming To iPhone

by Marc Eastman on October 9, 2009

Continuing on with their major push toward the iPhoneEA is bringing Command & Conquer Red Alert to the iPhone and iPod Touch at the end of OctoberOctober reviewsOctober reviews. Having already put together some incredible iPhone games in the sports realm recently (Tiger WoodsMadden 10FIFA 10FIFA 10 reviewsFIFA 10 reviews), and with a strong list of other impressive entries (notably The Sims 3), EA isn’t letting up on the iPhone any time soon.

RedAlert_en_480x320_screen_02It’s speculation at this point, but the game looks quite nice, and given the mechanics EA has built into recent titles, I have high hopes for this one. I wonder about the touch controls, because I’ve played a few games recently which have had somewhat tricky tap, or tap-and-drag controls, but I expect EA won’t have that problem. Considering the way Madden 10 is played, and the control abilities there, they seem to have a firm grip on working these things out.

Keep your eye out for the release.

  • Touch-control the action on the battlefield. Drag and scroll, pinch-zoom, or select and move with a tap.
  • Choose your faction and fight as either the Soviets or the Allies.
  • Deploy military might unique to each side and engage in different campaign storylines.
  • Battle through 12 intense combat levels.
  • Fight in Skirmish Mode on two different battlefield maps with war squads you create and control.
  • Command units on realistic battlefields with different environmental conditions.
  • Build your base and manage supplies with an easy-to-use combat system.
  • Employ classic units like Kirov Air Ships and new units like the Paladin Tank.
  • Research and develop new technologies to destroy your enemies. Arm yourself for all-out war!
  • Escalate your action by using red-hot Soviet Commando “Natasha” and Red Alert’s “Tanya” for sabotage and infiltration.
