White Night Wedding
During Iceland’s season of 24-hour days, literature professor Jon (Hilmir Snær Guðnason) and his former student, Thora (Laufey Elíasdóttir), plan to marry. But their wedding is threatened by a financial dispute between Jon and Thora’s prominent parents, and by Jon’s self-doubts. Meanwhile, the quirky members of the wedding party deal with various issues and the constant daylight in this drama based on Chekhov’s play “Ivanov.”

In this adaptation of Émile Zola’s novel L’Assommoir, which won a BAFTA Award for Best Film, Maria Schell plays the title character, a crippled laundress who’s been abandoned (along with her two sons) by her lover. Eventually, she marries blue-collar worker Henri Coupeau (François Périer, who won a BAFTA for Best Actor) and realizes her dream of running her own laundry. But the scourge of Coupeau’s alcoholism threatens to ruin everything.

Dance instructor Lydia Grant (Debbie Allen) molds young hopefuls into skilled performers at New York City’s High School for the Performing Arts in this hit TV series. BrunoBruno reviews
(Lee Curreri), Coco (Erica Gimpel) and the other students dream of making it big but must pay their dues before heading for the bright lights of showbiz. The premiere season finds the kids facing competition, rejection and grueling rehearsals, along with some serious issues.
Bonanza: Season 1: Vol. 1
Lorne Greene, Michael Landon, Dan Blocker and Pernell Roberts ride the range in this collection of episodes from the first season of this Emmy-winning television Western, which went on to enjoy an epic 14-year run. As the Cartwright men work their ranch and do right by their neighbors, they also tangle with corrupt railroad executives, greedy mining tycoons, dirty politicians, vile bank robbers and other troublemakers.

“Melrose Place” alums Daphne Zuniga and Greg Evigan star in this suspenseful Hallmark Channel Western about a grifter named Diana (Zuniga) who assumes the identity of her dead friend Jen in order to escape her con-man boss (Evigan). Along with Jen’s name comes a rancher fiancé, Beau (Cameron Bancroft), whom neither woman has met. But just as Beau begins to catch on to the con, Diana’s hit with a bigger problem: Her boss is back, and he’s not happy.

This romantic comedy is based on Noel Coward’s play.
