Your favorite crew of brainiacs are back for another season with the release of the DVD set of Big Bang Theory - Season Two.
The science of funny is back! At work, physicists Leonard and Sheldon and their pals conquer the cosmos. At home, real life – from
dating to driving – conquers them. This season, Leonard gets a girl. So does Sheldon. (Sheldon?!) Howard drives the Mars Rover into a ditch. Raj woos a terminator. Gorgeous girl-next-door Penny falls under the spell of Age of Conan. And super-smart, überconfident Leslie Winkler reduces mere men to spineless jellyfish. Twenty-three laugh-filled episodes from series creators Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men) and Bill Prady (Gilmore Girls) and a supremely talented cast show why Big Bang is such a big hit.
The second season found this show really hitting its stride. Even in episodes which were built around used concepts (computer game addiction, for example), the unique spin our crew of nerdy geniuses can put on things made it easy to forgive, and a lot of fun.
For the uninitiated, the scientists by day, geeks in an apartment by night show is pretty easily one of the best sitcoms of the decade. The geniuses and their lack of ability to relate to the rest of the world comes together to play out hilarious mockeries of just about anything, all while remaining aloofly intelligent as though the show itself were being Sheldon at you. It's smart, and it isn't about to care if that works for you.
For fans, the DVD release is definitely a must-own, because along with being one of the best comedies in years, it is also one of the most rewatchable. The comedy is often fast and furious (can you remember the entire list of things that might annoy Sheldon?), and the show lends itself well to marathon sessions.
Already renewed for two more season, the DVD sets are a great chance to catch up with one of the best shows on the air, so that you're ready for the new season.
