White Collar – Fall TV Preview

Fans of PSYCH may have got a glimpse of a new show coming to USA Friday, October 23^rd at 10pm - White Collar. I’ll have a more detailed review closer to air, but for now I want to give you a little taste of the show. White Collar stars Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, Tiffani Thiessen, Willie Garson, and Diahann Carrol.

Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer), is a con man, and Peter Stokes (Tim DeKay) is the FBI agent who finally captured him. Caffrey escapes from prison, and Stokes catches him again, but along the way Caffrey comes up with an alternative to prison – he wants to help Stokes catch other criminals. We may have run into spins on criminals helping the police before, but White Collar plays out in a fairly unique way, and the two stars deliver an instant chemistry that make this one a fun ride.

I’m becoming more confident in USA’s efforts as they continue to roll out and suck me in, and Matt Bomer’s well-balanced suave and charming con artist looks to keep the streak alive. A character that could go wrong so easily, and in so many ways, is kept in check and able to deliver the level of engagement needed to carry a series.

Check out the trailer, and keep your sights on this one. I have no doubt that this is going to be one of the sharpest, most entertaining new shows the fall has to offer.
