ScreenTime – So You Think You Can Dance And American Dance Crew Judge And Choreographer Shane Sparks

Shane Sparks is quite a busy guy.  When he’s not appearing on So You Think You Can Dance as a judge, or choreographing numbers for the show, or on his other show America’s Best Dance Crew, he’s busy working with films and generally showcasing his talents in wide array of venues.  He’s amassed quite a few awards, including an American Choreography Award for best choreography in a feature film.

Though he’s at an especially hectic spot in his calendar right now, I got a chance to get a few questions to him so that I might get some insight on his screening preferences.

shanesparks1. Standard reality show question, are there other reality shows that you’re hooked on? If so, which and what pulls you into them?

Making the Band! When Puffy made Day 26, that was the hottest show ever. It’s been so long since we’ve heard R&B and I loved how he made the guys battle to stay on the show. Genius!

2. Have any new shows from the last year managed to draw you in? If so, can you expand on why?

Paris Hiltons BFF! Funny as hell! When she sent the girls to the airport and they thought they were going on a trip and instead she sent them home, Oh. My. God. Hilarious!

3. What are the three best movies you’ve seen most recently, whether in theater or not? Can you give some detail on what you liked about them?

That’s easy. Transformers, Iron Man and Fast and the Furious!

4. If you could take over production of any current TV show, and either change things around, or just make sure it was done right, what show would it be, and what would you do?

Parental Control. I would use real couples or better actors. It’s so corney.

5. What’s your favorite movie that no one seems to have heard of, and what’s so great about it?

A Murder of Crows starring Cuba Gooding Jr. That movie is genius. He (Gooding) basically takes someones book and passes it off as if it was his own. Little does he know, the book includes the true life murder’s of five lawyers. Making it seem like he was the murderer, he has to prove it’s not his book. So good! You HAVE to watch it.

6. For people who might only know you from seeing you on TV, what might they be surprised to know you watch regularly?

Desperate Housewives.

7. If you play any video games, what are you playing right now?

Funny you ask me this because it’s currently 2:24AM and me and my boys are playing UFC! Sick, sick game!

8. You’re TV/DVR malfunctions, and some of your recorded shows are lost, which three losses upset you the most?

Heroes, American Gangster, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

9. If you were suddenly offered the chance to be on a new Celebrity version of an existing reality show (Celebrity Survivor, Celebrity Amazing Race, Celebrity Top Chef, anything) what show would you want to do, and why?

Punk’d because there are so many people I want to punk, like Keisha Coles mom, Taraji Henson , 50 Cent. I want to see them get punk’d because I know they would probably take somebody’s head off.

10. What are your three favorite shows that have been off the air for at least five years?

Fresh Prince of Bel Air, New York Undercover, and South Central.

11. Best movie ever?

Coming to America!

I want to say thanks a lot to Shane for taking a few moments in a really rushed schedule to take part in ScreenTime.
