There are several yearly television events that I really love. Watching MiracleMiracle reviews
on 34th St. on eighteen different channels at the same time in December. Watching Groundhog DayGroundhog Day reviews
… well, you know. Watching A Christmas Story for 24 straight hours on TBSTbs reviews
(see below). There are a lot of these television traditions around my house, as you might guess, but none of them quite blows the doors off the whole television theory like AugustAugust reviews
on TCM.
This will be the seventh year of Summer Under the Stars, and it is an absolutely amazing trip through classic cinema. Best of all, the films are uncut and commercial free. Just to have Glenn Ford day (August 7th) is a treat, and while Ida Lupino (August 27th) might not be the name everyone gravitates immediately toward, but man is that a schedule.
I’ll leave you to some details from the press release, and the full schedule, because there isn’t much more I can say, but be sure to mark your calendars and tune in. Also, check out the Summer Under the Sun homepage, which has some great posters and wallpapers to download, and more info.
Also, I have the opportunity to give away 2 Robert Osborne bobble head dolls!
TCM’s prime time host is now a collector’s item! This 7-inch tall bobblehead doubles as a business card holder and makes the perfect gift for any TCM fan. The packaging also contains great TCM facts and fun information on Robert Osborne. Available exclusively at tcm.com while supplies last! You can buy yours here!
Leave a comment below and start it off with the word “Win,” and you are automatically entered. Winners will be randomly selected on August 16th… because that’s Elvis day baby. You must be in the U.S. to win.
Oh, and…
Here’s part of the press release and the full schedule.
