Jon & Kate Plus 8 – Series Premiere Pulls In Viewers – Hooray America

You probably already know that Jon & Kate Plus 8 managed its highest ratings ever with the premiere of the latest season.  It's hardly surprising given the fact that America had the opportunity to tune in to some tabloid-timely reality.  And, naturally, the web is littered with reactions and all manner of snippets from every angle.  It might be Mark A. Perigard from the Boston Herald calling for the show to be shut down, or it might be Kate's sister-in-law spouting off that the show is fake.  After you pick yourself up off the floor on that shocker, I'll go on.

jonandkateEvery camp you can think of seems to be hitting the blogosphere with as much pent up fury as a keyboard can sustain.  The children are exploited.  Jon didn't do anything wrong, so why is he apologizing?  I even found someone who posts under the name - Don'tHateKate - but to tell the truth... I think it might be Kate.

But, now let's just hold the phone on this a second here.  Listen, I hear you on this whole Kate's a bitch thing, and the show is all exploitive of the children thing, and on and on.  I know that no one seems to much be standing up for Kate.  But, I'm afraid I'm going to have to call your ass out on that now.

Mark Perigard makes some good points in his article, but he's falling in line with a lot of others who are chiming up with this, "Kate says she does everything she does for the kids... so she should get them off the show."  Various renditions of that ballad have been tearing up the internet like wildfire for the last week or so.  If she was really thinking about what was best for them this, and if she wasn't just interested in getting exposure that.  Having your family go through a rough time with cameras everywhere, and dragging your small children into the thing... blah, blah, blah.  I say, Bull.  You know what's pretty good for your kids when you have eight of them, especially when maybe you're about to get divorced?  Having a big pile of cash, and an ever-growing demographic of dumbasses wearing your T-shirt and buying your DVDs, that's what.

Kate's a bitch?  Damn straight she's a bitch.  Being a bitch is working for her!  Are you kidding me?  She's got millions of people all over the country pimping her show for her... by calling her a bitch.

 

That Kate is such a bitch.  God, I can't believe she has a show.  She drives me nuts.  And, she ain't doin' it for the kids. That's all bull, don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth.

You got the Tivo set though right?

Hell yeah I got the Tivo set.  See what that bitch does now.

 

Come on.  Kate's always been a bitch.  Hell, the two of them never acted remotely like people who like each other... and that's why you watch!  And now people who can't stop tuning in are going about babbling that the show should be canceled?  Give me a break... you know how easy it is to get a show canceled if you really wanted it off the air. -Click-

    well ,gotta tell you ,over here in the good old UK…We have a little common sense!
    When we see kids exploited ,for their parents gain..we PULL THE PLUG!!
    YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!>>Don`t need to avoid ,or click off the channel….TLC?Sattelite ,have done that for us…the show here has been cancelled!
    And yes ,for the kids sake ,i hope america wakes up and does the same,..,poor little blighters..what did THEY do ,to deserve parents like these two ,media HUNGRY ANIMALS!

      I have to say that I'm frankly not sure what point you're making.

      To start, you seem to be working from a theory wherein I somehow support this show… which is strange.

      Second, if the show is not airing in the UK, it doesn't equate with the idea of the show being canceled. It doesn't stop the show for it to not be on there.

      Third, you seem to have the idea that the show is exploitational to the children even in theory, in which case, if it was pulled for the kid's sake, how did it get on in the first place?
