There were a dozen weak plot points if not more throughout the movie, but I'm a character person and am very forgiving if I like a character. If I wasn't, I could never have stomached the last two Lethal Weapons movies. Maybe the last three.

i thought Liev Schreiber in particular did an awesome job from all the way through; he brought some genuine acting prowess to the whole production

I can kind of see that actually, but the story ended up so thin, and the end was just odd. Aha! but his memories won't grow back! Ummm, ok. A) How the hell do you know that? B) You're going out against someone who could kill you with little to no effort at all, on the incalculably tiny chance that you are Mr. Awesome Shot, and get the opportunity to put a bullet in his brain, all for the fantabulous reward of his losing his memory? Ummm, ok, again.

But, it wasn't so bad in the end, as I said.

Just as you were the perfect audience for Punch Drunk, I'm probably the perfect audience for this. I never read comics and have had little to no exposure to the X-men except the movies (which have pretty much left me cold except I like the Wolverine character). So, well, it worked for me.
