World of Goo is a game which surely ranks among the most simplistic in its general idea. Connect dots of Goo in order to perform a variety of tasks. That’s pretty much it. But, the simple ideas are often the great ones, and it’s nothing short of amazing how much imagination can spew forth from simple concepts.
From the humblest of stacking Goo Balls beginnings, to the most outlandishly complicated levels, World of Goo sucks you in and doesn’t let go. Move your cursor, pick up a Goo Ball as it darts around your construction, and move it somewhere to attach it and build on. Your creation will sway under the force of gravity (or wind in certain levels), and you have to get from point A to point B without collapsing (or catching fire, or falling down a pit, etc.).
The game is complex and addicting, and each level adds a new spin to what you think might be possible. Along the way you’ll discover new kinds of Goo Balls, and the combinations will tax your abilities and suck you in. Your initial Goo Balls cannot be unnattached. Once you stick in onto your construction, that’s what you’ve got. But, as you progress you will get Goo Balls that can be taken off and used again, some that catch fire, balloons you can attach to help hold your creation up or make it float away, and more.
It’s actually been a while since one of these simple, yet addicting games has come along to hook me in. A few levels actually crossover into the land of purely irritating, but they are the rare exception to the rule. I’m already addicted, and the only thing that’s really troubling me at this point is what I’m going to do when I run out of levels.

I have the game on WiiWare, but am led to understand by thoroughly reliable sources that there is virtually no difference between the Wii and PC versions of the game.
