Tivo And Netflix Finally Get Out Of The Gates

It's been talked about for several years, but starting in December Netflix streaming will finally show up on your Tivo.  Netflix has been showing signs of much success with its streaming feature, and you've seen Blu-Ray players hitting shelves with the Netflix capability built into them, but no-brainer Tivo connectivity has been glaringly absent.

The Chicago Tribune's story covers the details that held up the deal.   Apparently, both sides thought they would look for better offers for working the same idea.

I don't know about you, but adding the Tivo option to the Netflix service makes a world of difference to me.  I know that internet streaming is shooting through the roof right now, and places like FanCast and Hulu are growing in popularity, but I want to just tell it to show up on my TV.

Yeah, I know, you can make that work, but I like the very few steps option.

This is great news for both companies, though neither of them seem to be hyping it up quite yet.  Stay tuned... both are sure to launch a media frenzy hoping to boost themselves.  Watch the world go mad blogging it up below as well.
